I’m incredibly honored to be featured in Bold Journey Magazine, where I had the chance to share more about my journey as a chef, a daughter, and a business owner carrying forward a legacy that started decades ago.
In the interview, I talk about resilience, not as a single event, but as something woven through every chapter of life
“Resilience, for me, isn’t one single story. It’s the thread that connects every chapter of my life. It’s what allows me to start over, to keep going, and to believe that even after loss or failure, something beautiful can grow.”
That thread of resilience runs through everything I do at Johnny D’s Waffles & Benedicts. My father and I built this restaurant side by side. What we created together became so much more than a breakfast spot.

Those words capture exactly what I hope every guest feels when they walk through our doors. The sense of care, connection, and creativity on every plate.
One of my favorite moments in the interview came when we talked about what leadership really means in hospitality.
“Every challenge teaches you something about yourself. You realize that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about showing up with honesty, humility, and heart.”
That philosophy continues to guide how I lead our team, dream up new menu ideas, and honor the legacy of my father, Johnny D.
